Colour Therapy
Colour is a vibrational energy that is reacted upon by our physical, emotional and etheric bodies in specific ways. Visual Response - The retina of the eye transmits a response to the brain, causing a chemical reaction in the body. The reaction is based upon the state of our being at that moment, as well as information stored in our DNA. Mental - Thinking a colour causes the body to respond in a specific way ie: Turquoise/Tranquility, Peacefulness, releasing endorphins in the bloodstream. Physical - Red's vibrational frequency may cause tension although it is the colour of the base chakra (which is a grounding colour). Where as blue tends to have a relaxing effect whether we are consciously aware of it or not even if your eyes are closed. The colour's energy is around us still. Emotional - There are emotional responses due to psychological associations developed from our past in the same way that we react to smells. How It WorksThe client reclines, listens to relaxing sounds, and the colour therapist uses a color lamp, in a darkened room to treat specific ailments or energy levels. Coloured light TONATES (gives colour energy ) to body areas that are imbalanced. At the same time, water is tonated using the same colour vibration and this is to be drunk immediately following the treatment. Colour breathing is also used. By seeing, thinking, breathing in that colour to a particular part of the body, positive changes will occur in the designated area. The treatment lasts forty five to sixty minutes. The therapist remains in the room and may assist the client in directing their focus and breathing. It is incredibly relaxing and the client may fall asleep; that's ok. Colour therapy can be integrated with other modalities. Some Physiological Effects of Colour
Note: Green is the most beneficial colour. It strengthens the immune system, balances all body systems and rejuvenates the physical body. Magenta balances the emotional body. |
