Thai and Thai Herbal Treatments

Beginning December 2005 David is introducing Thai Massage and Thai Herbal Massage to an already extensive list of Therapeutic Holistic Modalities.

Shivago Komarbhaccha, an Ayurvedic Doctor and celebrated Yogi is the founding father of Thai massage. He shared his teachings with the Buddhist order of monks. This technique embraces the four states of mind: loving kindness, compassion, joy and balance, otherwise known as Promwiham Sii.

Thai massage is becoming increasingly popular in the west with many experiencing their first treatments in Thailand where it is practiced by monks and mainly women on their hard working men in the family. Thai massage is an ancient bodywork therapy that has been practiced for over 2500 years. Thai massage is different in that it is generally done on the floor on a mat with pillows and bolsters. The client remains clothed in loose comfortable clothing.

THAI MASSAGE incorporates stretching, acupressure, reflexology, gentle rocking, yoga postures and breath work for an incredibly relaxing experience. Many clients are able to fall asleep during a session. It is sometimes referred to as Lazy Man's / Women's Yoga. A series of movements that flow allow the body to open up. It is a treatment that can be addictive.

THE BENEFITS include relief of muscular tension, joint pain, and frozen shoulder that is not easily accomplished with traditional table massage. This work may help boost the immune system, alleviate chronic and acute tension, restore flexibility and restore mobility.

Thai Herbal Massage Treatments

Steamed, hot/warm aromatic and therapeutic herb filled cotton sacks are applied to muscles and very importantly, joints to relieve soreness and pain and increase levels of flexibility. It has a profound simultaneously relaxing and energizing affect on the body, mind and soul. The heat penetrates the pores, the skin becomes heated and blood flow is stimulated, resulting in a rapid rebuilding and nourishing of the body's tissues. Deep relaxation relieves stress and improves overall health and well being for peace of mind and body. This treatment alone is highly beneficial for arthritic conditions. The aroma alone of the steamed herbs has soothing affect. This combined with the heat and your practitioners full attention makes for an incredible experience. You need only to allow and let go.
